Negril, Jamaica

Banana boating while Reggae plays in the foreground. Oily spicy bombastic jerk chicken. The sweetest juiciest sweet sap fruit. Gnawing the nectar out of a husk of sugar cane. Ganga? Rasta life.

Oceans of sunshine, horseback riding on the beach…This is what you came for…!

My Intel

Negril is known for its long stretches of white-sand beaches and placid-like ocean waters. I know Sean Kingston promised shorty, he’ll take you there (to Kingston?), but you have to get there, easily done and Negril, Jamaica reps the all-inclusive for days.

How to Go: All-Inclusive

I have read a lot of negative reviews of some of the all-inclusives lately, so, caution in. However, though I’m usually a boutique promoter, in Negril, it’s typically the all-inclusives. They’re the most comfortable, safest, and best bet to experiencing the beach and island culture from.

Why Irie?

Jamaica expresses the ideals of Bob Marley in the towels, tokens, and music that feature his face and are blared from here and there. Jamaica is relaaaxed. It encourages consumption, island-style.

The music, reggae most specifically, is and has been a global phenomenon since the iconic Bob Marley stirred up the well with his messages of love, of togetherness, of social justice, and of peace. The residue of this is strong in the sand and sea that absolutely remembers the leader who touched the lives of many.

Likewise, the fruits of its labors, of the island’s people are as flavorful as the musical beats. And even though you can get jerk chicken elsewhere these days, there is something exceptional about it on site of Jamaica’s beaches. It just might change your life.

Highlights

Few places offer a parasailing deal with such views as Negril, soaring over the sublime stretches of sand and crystal waters. The experience is with a given soundtrack of ocean wind and waters, a delightful addition to this vacation. It’s way more tame than jumping off a cliff paragliding.

There’s also booze cruising and other attractions waterfalls, ziplining, scuba diving, snorkeling, and motorbiking around the area that are prime activities for youth particularly.

Where to Stay: Caves or Azul Beach Resort Negril by Karisma

Azul is a beachfront spot that’s large and amenities-rich with its own lustrous beach. It has a handful of pools, white-sand stretch in front of the hotel, restaurants, activities, spa, and a defined family-friendly vibe. This is a comfortable immersion not only of Negril, but the entire island.

Caves is alternatively not just a name, it’s a hotel inclusive to an actual limestone cave with a bar to hydrate and dine at. Island color decor, Caves has a spa and is cliff-side, an unusually pretty spot utterly. The space has a wading down to the ocean of its very own, though no actual sand beach. Bicycles can be used on-site, though you might not want to venture far from this fiesta of a stay. This locale is for couples only.

*Safety tip

Many of the all-inclusive are adults only. Many resorts have nude beaches along Negril as well.

Bottom line

Jamaica is a magnificent place for the beaches, the food, and the music. Visiting there is somehow pleasing and anchoring at the same time. Try not to in-tone into a Jamaican accent. But then again, if it’s ok to speak like a British person in London, is it ok to speak like a Jamaican in Negril? Maybe not, maybe. Go Irie and find out. The hospitality there is locally robust.
